As fancy as a wine can sound and get there are myths surrounding this drink that people have been blindly trusting on since ages. Wine comes in different flavours and colours and there are as many myths about the types as well. You must have heard things like 'wine makes you sleep better' or 'a glass of win a day is better for your health'. Let us burst your bubble and tell you that not all of these statements are true and you might want to revise your knowledge on wines.

- Wine tastes better with cheese: This is one of the biggest myth of all. To break it down to you, red wine in specific doesn't go well with the protein that milk products contain. And so, the strongly flavoured cheese doesn't suit with any type of such wine.

- The best wines are those which are more expensive: No, who even came up with this? Wine doesn't have a taste standard according to its price. What might taste best to you might taste terrible to other and vice versa. And that's how you recognize the best wine for yourself, according to your taste. It's never the money. Nope.

- Red wine tends to give you headaches: It is not even close to what this sentence says. Red wine is very much an alcohol type as other drinks are. And too much of any kind of alcohol will end up dehydrating you and giving you a headache. This is why it is said to drink lots of water before you plan on sipping on a lot of wine.

- Old wine is the best wine: The biggest myth of all! Exactly, a myth, not the truth. Wine is made keeping in mind the immediate consumption of it by the customers. Wine doesn't change it taste even if it's kept for years long. Instead, wines are best when had sooner than later.

- Red wine needs to be served at room temperature and white wines should be consumed chilled: This is such a false statement. The wine experts say that it is the white wine that tastes much better when at a warmer temperature. While red wine should be consumed chilled as they are a little overbearing when served warm.

- The taste of wine changes according to the type of glass: So say it easily, more space helps the drink with getting more oxygen. And this is why red wine reacts well with natural compounds and tastes better in wide glasses while white wine doesn't require as much surface area.

We hope your beliefs that are actually myths about wine are now broken down to you and you don't end up passing the wrong information to others henceforth.
