Nutritionist reveals foods that have healing properties

A healthy immunity can help your body heal from physical injuries and potentially disease much faster. In order to gain these benefits, you need to incorporate foods that can help tackle issues so your body can get back into shape.

Nutritionist Nmami Agarwal reveals the foods that you should add to your diet in order to reap the benefits, as reported by a news portal.

1. Ginger: This spice is found in practically every Indian household. So getting access to it is no problem. Ginger has a number of health benefits. It contains healing properties and helps you digest food more easily. It is beneficial for treating colds, cramps, vomiting, nausea,indigestion and arthritis. It is also effective in relieving pain. You can have it on a daily basis by adding it to your tea, dals or in vegetable dishes.

2. Walnuts: If there is one nut you should be eating, it is walnuts. Experts say it is the healthiest of them all. However, consume it in moderation. This nut helps to reduce cholesterol levels and improve mental health issues like depression. Walnuts have also been found to help children with behavioural issues and those who have trouble staying focused on tasks.

3. Eggs: Eggs are rich in protein. The egg yolk contains beneficial amino acids like tryptophan and tyrosine. It is also high in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. All this helps to improve memory, give your metabolism a boost and regulate the functioning of cells in the brain and nervous system.

4. Tomatoes: Consuming tomatoes regularly can help improve heart health and prevent constipation. It contains a high amount of folic and alpha-lipoic acid, which helps to reduce symptoms of depression. It has also been found to stabilise one's mood and convert glucose into energy.
