Parents are the ultimate role model for their kids. How you speak to your kid leaves a long-lasting impact in their mind. Hence, the road to parenting is not as smooth as it might appear. Although we do admit that handling the little ones can be a tough job at times, however as a parent you must find out ways to not let it all out on your kids in the best possible ways. While you might not be blessed with the obedient child, sometimes punishing your kids is not the only way to discipline them. You must try other smart ways to discipline your kids without being too harsh.
Sibling fight is one of the common situations in most families. Most of the parent fail to resolve these fights without being too strict with their behaviour. Start by making your kid understand that you understand why they’re upset with each other. Explain to them why fighting is not the answer to resolving problems. Let them know that they can always count on you to understand their emotions and you can decide the best for them.

The next step is to replace your negative words. Sometimes, simply saying “no” can’t do any good to your kid. Give them the reason so that they can realise. Instead of always saying “no” or denying them, put your words carefully. For instance, if your kid insists on playing till late at night, you can try saying, “Let’s finish our game tomorrow,” instead of, “No, don’t do that now.” It’s also important that you understand their emotions.

Complimenting your child is also a great way to discipline them. Make them feel appreciated when they help you. Engaging them in your activities can also them to push their knowledge skills.

Lastly, remember how you’re speaking with a child can inspire their communication skills. Is your talking tone in check? Make sure you’re not too harsh on your kids. If they break any house rule, make them understand that they’re not bad. Tell your toddler know that you believe in them and their intentions are not wrong, however, their way of doing things is not right.
