The whole nation waited with baited breath on 25th March for the court's verdict on Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim's rape case. The self proclaimed demigod had been accused of raping two women and was declared guilty of the crime. And now, true justice has been served. The Dera chief has been sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment, 10 years for each case.

Haryana streets on Friday erupted with barbaric violence when the Court had held the ‘Guru of Bling’ guilty of the crimes. As a result of that around 38 people were killed and more than 200 people injured in the violence in Haryana. The 50-year-old accused has been lodged in Rohtak's Sunaria jail, which has been placed under multi-layered security. 28 companies of paramilitary troops have been stationed in the town and none of his Dera followers are being allowed to enter the district.

It may have taken very long, but finally, justice has been served to the victims and their families.
