Keeping your blood pressure in check is very important to keep your overall health intact. If you know you suffer from high blood pressure and if you keep it untreated, chances are that your blood vessels might get ruptured and bad cholesterol might accumulate in your arteries. What does this do? This will create critical heart problems and is quite a life threatening issue.

There are no apparent symptoms to detect high blood pressure, which is even more problematic and gives you all the more reason to keep it in check. But a recent research by a Japanese Circulation Society done in Japan says that people who visit the loo oftentimes in the night may have high blood pressure.

Feeling the need to use the loo once or twice is also terms as a medical condition called nocturia. And when nocturia and hypertension combine together, they increase the risk of the latter increasing by 40%. It could be because of many lifestyle factors like genetic background, ethnicity and also salt intake.

Hence, doctors advise to cut down salt intake to lessen the times you visit the washroom. It stabilises the blood pressure and also ensures good sleep.

But over all, keep a regular check on your blood pressure and if it increases the ideal level of 180/120 mm Hg, you should definitely consult a doctor to take necessary precautions rather than ignoring the warning signs.
