Scientists have printed a 3D heart with human tissues

A group of scientists from Israel recently unveiled a 3D print of a heart that show human tissues and vessels. This event has been touted as a “major medical breakthrough” as this very even is helpful for advance possibilities of transplants.
Of course, that possibility may be the far way in time, scientists hope that this will be able to produce hearts that are suitable for transplant into humans and also to regenerate defective heats. This heart that was produced nu the research team at Tel Aviv University is about the size of a rabbit’s.
The size of the heart could be compared to the size of a cherry, immersed in liquid. The research team is currently “teaching” the heart to behave like a real one. As of now, its cells are able to contract but do not yet have the ability to pump. Then they plan to transplant them into animal models, hopefully in about a year, said Dvir.
"Maybe, in 10 years, there will be organ printers in the finest hospitals around the world, and these procedures will be conducted routinely," he said. But he said hospitals would likely start with simpler organs than hearts.
