Ladies, it’s time to ditch parlours that charge hefty amounts just to remove your worn off gel nails. We are revealing the salon secret that probably your nail technician wouldn’t tell you. Whether you’re tight on your budget or just under the house arrest, you can now treat your outgrown gel nails at home. Not only outgrown nails look ugly but also starts chipping. It gets more annoying when hair strands keep getting stuck in those extended nails. Honestly, this trick will save you from all of these issues. It is life-changing.

This DIY gel nail removal technique will require acetone, cotton, aluminium foil, a buffer (optional, but recommended) and hydrating cuticle oil to boost dry nails after taking off the gel polish.

Begin with trimming your nail into the desired size or length. We recommend to leave it slightly more than the desired length as you need to buffer it later, hence the size might get reduced.

Use the buffer to break the topmost layer of the gel polish. Start lightly buffing until the shine of the gel nail is gone.

Put acetone in cotton balls generously and wrap around these soaked cottons over the nail. Cut aluminium foil in small sheets and use it to wrap the nails covered with cotton. They layer should be- nail followed by a layer of acetone soaked cotton, finished off with aluminium wrapped around each fingernail.

Leave it as it is for 30 minutes. Later, remove each foil from your nail and your gel manicure should have come off. It might need a little buffing or scrape off the rest with a cuticle pusher. Apply cuticle oil to hydrate your nails and you’re good to go.
