Several trains delayed in Delhi as fog grips the city leading to poor visibility

The National capital of the country, on Monday, was taken over by a blanket of fog that completely surrounded the city and led to visibility issues. Reportedly many train and flight schedules were disrupted owing to this development. As many as 22 trains were delayed and another 10 were cancelled due to low visibility and operational reasons. In addition to this three trains were rescheduled by the Indian Railways. The Indian Meteorological Department further stated that the severe conditions are expected to continue over the next few days.

Most parts of northern India are reeling under cold waves. Punjab and Haryana have been affected by a severe drop in temperature and high-altitude areas of Jammu region are also experiencing snowfall over the last few weeks. Leh in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir recorded a low of minus 15.6 degrees Celsius, earlier this month. Even norther parts of Rajasthan with Sriganganagar being the coldest recorded place at 1.9 degrees Celsius was covered with dense fog. Stay tuned for more updates.
