Are you feeling low or depressed all of a sudden? Do you feel put-off by things? As the winter season approaches us, the days get shorter and the nights get longer. While this may just cause some people to feel low, for others, it is considered to be a serious problem known as SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). SAD is a seasonal disorder which is known to mimic the symptoms of depression. When sunlight is less available, the body tends to go out of rhythm which leads to SAD.

Here are a few things you can do to fight winter depression:

Firstly, wake up early. You need to be spending as much time in the sunlight as possible and the best way to do this is to wake up early. Another thing to avoid when you're feeling low is to drink too much alcohol. Avoid binge-drinking as it won't help you out in any way. Don't spend all day inside your office. Take some breaks and go out for a walk so that you get some sunshine on you.

You could also try essential oils as they can have soothing and relaxing effects on you. You could also try mediation to calm yourself down. It is also important that you maintain a proper sleeping cycle so that your body doesn't fall out of rhythm. Lastly, if you still feel low, you should speak with your doctor and consult with them about taking medication if required.
