The holy month of Ramadan is almost upon us and while we're eagerly waiting to get started, the one thing we must remember to take care or during this month is our skin. We go out of our way to ensure that we eat and drink healthy during the permitted time period during Ramadan, but what most people forget to focus on is skincare. Just like you feel dehydrated when you don't drink enough water, your skin is also prone to getting dehydrated during this month. So, you must ensure that you try your best to follow these skincare tips during Ramadan.

-Avoid consuming carbonated drinks: While it may feel tempting to opt for sugary and carbonated drinks like coffee and sodas, these can lead to dehydration in your skin. Instead, opt for water or water-based drinks like fresh lime water or berry-infused water. They'll help rehydrate you and will also satisfy your cravings.

-Eat the right foods: Just because you're fasting for over half a day doesn't mean you can eat whatever kind of junk you want later on. Say no to saturated fats, carbohydrates and processed foods since these can lead to inflammation and breakouts on your skin. Instead, opt for foods that are rich in vitamins, nutrients, proteins, antioxidants and healthy fats. Your diet should be full of fresh fruits and veggies as well as some portions of lean meat.

-Do not forget to moisturise: Now that you won't be able to drink water almost throughout the day, your skin might get dehydrated. So, make sure to use moisturiser regularly to keep your skin hydrated. You must also pay attention to your lips and moisturise them regularly so that you don't end up with chapped lips.

-Avoid harsh soaps: Harsh soaps can strip your skin of its natural oils and this can make your skin dry very fast. Use soaps that contain moisturising properties and will help soothe your skin instead of squeezing it dry.

-Get enough sleep: Your skin will already be under stress due to all the sudden lifestyle changes during this time and add to that an unhealthy sleep schedule and you'll end up looking like a zombie. Ensure that you get at least 7-8 hours of sleep every night so that you don't end up with undereye bags or dark circles.

Follow these tips during this holy month and your skin will look radiant and flawless as ever. Stay tuned for more updates.
