One of the most flamboyant personalities of Mumbai’s social circuit, Parmeshwar Godrej passed away last night in Mumbai. Parmeshwar breathed her last at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, where she was admitted due to a degenerative lung disorder. Parmeshwar’s friend, Imran Khan, was the first person to break the news of socialite’s passing away.

Parmeshwar Godrej was the first air hostess of Air India and is renowned for her work in combating AIDS through the Heroes Project which she launched in 2004 along with Hollywood actor Richard Gere and supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative.

Parmeshwar Godrej was 70 years old and is survived by her husband, Adi, and three children – Nisaba, Pirojsha and Tanya Dubash.
