A new study carried out in China states that people who consume at least one egg per day may have a significantly lower risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of disability and death worldwide and this includes China as well. Researchers from Peking University in China conducted the study where they examined the associations between egg consumption and cardiovascular diseases.

"The study finds that there is an association between moderate level of egg consumption (up to 1 egg per day) and a lower cardiac event rate," researchers said. China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB) study which is an ongoing study was used as a basis for this new research. The researchers focused on 416,213 participants who were healthy and did not have prior cancer, CVD and diabetes.

13.1 percent of the participants reported consuming a daily portion of eggs and 9.1 reported rare or no consumption of eggs. The study revealed that as compared to people who didn't consume eggs daily, people who did eat eggs were at a lower risk of developing CVD's. Well, it's time to start eating eggs we say.
