Cancer is a fatal disease that affects many people, men and women both included. Now we understand that obesity can be a leading cause of cancer and is a major health concern with authorities in different parts of the world trying to curb the problem. Also, women are more prone to cancer caused by obesity including breast and womb cancer.

New research conducted predicts that obesity will become the leading cause of preventable cancer in a few decades. In fact, the condition might even take over smoking as a cause of cancer in women in the next 25 years. The study shows that 23,000 cases of women suffering from cancer will be caused due to obesity by 2035.

The rising obesity rates among women is how this new development in research can be proved. Now, there are calls for campaigns to focus on effects of weight as much as those of smoking.
