Washing hair requires a different level of motivation to convince ourselves that we can no longer live a pathetic life with greasy, oil-slapped hair. It is a serious task that requires proper planning, execution and most importantly, the energy. Although, washing hair becomes all of a sudden crucial right when you’re about to step out for an event or even a date. Here comes the magic potion in a bottle-the dry shampoo to the rescue. Withing a few sprays it can potentially turn your messy tresses into sweet-smelling silky hair. However, when it comes to haircare-and more specifically scalp health, the use of dry shampoo, there’s a thin line between extending a blowout and causing scalp inflammation.

Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp and to do so regularly cleansing hair scalp is essential. You can’t substitute it with a fix-spray because dry shampoo isn’t shampoo in the first place. The dry shampoo tends to absorb the oil in your hair just make it less noticeable for the moment.

These dry shampoo often starch and alcohol which are both known for excessively drying out the hair. Hence, with overuse, your hair can become dull, weak and prone to breakage.

Apart from these, spraying dry shampoo too often on the roots of your hair can lead to buildup of the product on the scalp. It can clog pores on your scalp or cause kinds of bacterial or fungal infections in the hair follicles.

There’s no evidence if dry shampoo can potentially cause dandruff. All we know is, it doesn’t clean the oil and dirt from the scalp. Accumulation of such dirt and grease can lead to dandruff or itchy scalp.
