While we're being bombarded with a number of new diets every day, yet another new diet called the tech diet seems to have overtaken all of them. With the onset of the Internet and social media, people have started to get addicted to their screens. And now that Internet addiction has been classified as a real thing, nutritionists have come up with the tech diet to help combat the issue. It's a known fact that spending too much time online can be really bad for your health. Well, fret not because the tech diet is here to solve that issue by helping you take a digital detox.

As per the nutritionists, when you use your phone or your laptop, a total of six neurochemicals are released in your body and mind. These are:

- Adrenaline: The fight or flight response that in terms of social media can happen when someone likes or comments on your post.

- Dopamine: The one that makes you happy. So in terms of social media, this could be when someone likes something you put up.

- Serotonin: The creative one or the one that engages you. Getting into an online conversation with someone.

- Endorphins: The painkillers. When you get a lot of likes for something you post online.

- Cortisol: The ones released in stressful situations. When you put something up but not many people like it.

- Oxytocin: The love hormone. When you chat online or make a new friend.

Experts say that the tech diet can help you combat social media addiction by ensuring that you eat the right kinds of food along with avoiding spending too much time online.

- For serotonin: Eggs, pineapple, salmon, spinach, nuts

- For adrenaline: Legumes, whole grains, kidney beans, oranges.

- For dopamine: Chocolate, blueberries, sweet potatoes, broccoli

- For endorphins: Strawberries, grapes, asparagus, yoghurt

- For cortisol: Bananas, pears, black tea, cherries, mango

- For oxytocin: Pumpkin seeds, potatoes, quinoa, sesame seeds

Well, now that you know how the diet works, when are you planning on incorporating it into your lifestyle?
