You might have long passed teenage skincare problems including acne, but ever thoughts what do your random breakouts on the face really mean? There are several factors that might be causing that pesky acne on your face. Hormones and stress being two crucial reasons behind it, you will notice how these zits appear mostly on your face than the rest of your body. People experiencing body acne is much lower in number than those with acne on their face. It is more likely to occur when the sebaceous glands, located at the base of hair follicles, become overactive. There exist many possible reasons that can suggest why one might be experiencing pimples only on the face.

The sebum-producing glands are quite active on the face. Similarly, smaller sebaceous glands are present over other areas of your skin as well, such as your scalp or the upper body. However, the density remains maximum on the face, especially along the T-zone of your face. Hence there are high chances of experiencing acne on the face than any other part. This also explains why often we experience oily on your face’s T-zone.

Other than this, lifestyle habits play an important role that can contribute to facial acne. Not getting an adequate amount of sleep and anxiety adds up to the stress levels of the body, causing the skin to breakout. The tender skin of your face is more susceptible to this condition. Exercising is a great way to combat stress as it will further help you improve the blood circulation of the body.

Added to these, wrong skincare and even fragrance can cause inflammation on the skin leading to acne breakouts. Sometimes dandruff can also be a lead cause of acne. It is best to stop touching the face frequently, especially when you’re outdoor. One must sanitise their hands before applying anything on the face.

Allergies from dairy, nut and other food products can also damage your skin. It is important to maintain a good and balanced diet with a good source of fibre and antioxidants. Avoid sugar-loaded or sodium rich food, including all processed and aged foods as well. One may also experience dullness of skin and breakouts due to lack of hydration in the body, make sure you are chugging plenty of fluids.
