We think it's safe to say that the world has been officially run over by fad diets. Keto diet, pegan diet, paleo diet, Atkins diet, this diet, that diet (you get the point); there are so many of them that they're hard to keep a count of. Now, it may seem all magical and fairytale like to opt for a fad diet because it promises fast results, do you know what a common side effect of these diets is? Constipation. Most of these diets focus on increasing protein and fat intake and reducing carb intake. This lack of fibres is what makes digestion rather difficult and can ultimately lead to constipation.

Here are a few tips that can help your body recover from these diet-related issues:

- Drink Water: We cannot stress enough on how important drinking water is. Not only is it great for your body but it can also help in keeping your skin clean and clear. One more amazing use of drinking water is that it can help get rid of constipation as it can keep your gut and colon hydrated, so drink up we say.

- Start Exercising: When you exercise regularly, your body ensures that less water is absorbed into the body from your intestine. This way your large intestine is hydrated and thus constipation won't become an issue. It doesn't matter what diet you are on, just pick up some form of exercise and see how well things work for you after that.

- Eat Vegetables: Eating vegetables is in no way going to make you fat so even if your diet prevents you from eating too many veggies, you should eat them anyway. They contain fibre which is the number one thing you'll need in order to get rid of constipation. Try eating vegetables like eggplant, radish, bell peppers, zucchini, lettuce, asparagus, mushrooms etc.

- Try to consume probiotics: For those uninitiated, probiotics are basically good bacteria that are found in foods like yoghurt and can aid the process of digestion. Try to eat foods that are rich in probiotics like kimchi, kombucha, kefir and yoghurt. It will really make things a lot easier for you.

- Chia seeds and Flaxseeds: Chia seeds mix with water to form a gel which can help in making stool soft. It also has the ability to absorb twelve times its weight in water. Flaxseeds are rich in soluble and insoluble fibres which makes them ideal for the process of digestion. So, what you can do is munch on flaxseeds and drink water infused with chia seeds. This should resolve that constipation problem in no time.

Well, now that you know these tips, go give them a try. Stay tuned for more updates.
