A long-term pattern of abnormal behaviour characterized by unstable relationships with people around you, an unstable sense of self as well as unstable emotions is called a borderline personality disorder. If you keep doubting your worth consistently and feel rejected in relationships, there are chances that you're showing symptoms of this disorder. People who deal with BPD are usually the ones who fear abandonment and don't really tolerate being alone. They try to avoid their real emotions and act out even when they know that they're wrong. They start to feel good and loved only when they're in a relationship with someone but when they're alone, they feel rather dejected and start acting out. And so, if you wish to pick signs of borderline personality disorder, these pointers will help:

- People suffering from BPD have extreme emotions that range from feeling good to bad to loved to intense anger in no time. They tend to feel all of it to the extremities and even lack impulse control. Their patience and tolerance level decrease while their mood swings increase with time. This is why, they struggle with their feelings and emotions.

- They abruptly end relationships and tend to jump from one relationship to the other. They don't like feeling alone even if it's just for a moment and so they find a partner immediately after they end one relationship. They also tend to get into a toxic relationship as they're always doubting themselves and their self-worth. They can also be extremely loving and caring in a relationship only till they don't feel abandoned. If they start to feel left out, they'll become aggressive and hostile. This results in unstable relationships.

They will constantly need someone and they absolutely can't stand the idea of being alone as it makes them feel angry and anxious. Breakup because of trust issues and jealousy can trigger these abandonment feelings that leads to emptiness, panic attacks or even depression. This is why, they hate being alone.

They'll act out to lighten intolerable feelings which includes impulsive behaviours as drugs or alcohol abuse. The acting out behaviour doesn't allow them to grow unless they deal with their depression and start focusing on their own self rather than focusing on others. This is why, they start acting out even when they know it's inappropriate.
