We're right in the middle of the summer season and while we may still all be stuck indoors due to the lockdown, the heat can still definitely take a toll on our skin. One skin type that suffers the most during this season is the oily skin type. People with oily skin find things even worse due to all the sweat and grime accumulation during summer, which can lead to even more sebum production. So, if you're looking to keep the oil in your skin under control, make sure to follow these tips.

-Cleanse your face at least twice a day during the summer season. Wash your face once during the morning and then once before you go to bed and make sure to use a gentle cleanser. You can also splash your face with some water throughout the day to help keep it cool.

-Use face masks that can help get rid of oil. Mostly clay masks do the trick here since they have oil-absorbing properties. So, if you have a clay mask lying around, now is the time to put it to good use. Make sure to use it at least once a week.

-Opt for a lightweight moisturiser as opposed to a rather heavy textured one. You'll need something that your skin can absorb quickly so that the product doesn't end up clogging your pores. Remember, clogged pores equal excessive sebum and oil production. And the last thing oily skin needs is more oil!

-Use some blotting paper throughout the day. You can't over-cleanse your face since that will end up harming and damaging your skin. So, just use some blotting paper instead. Trust us, these work wonders in soaking up any excess oil from your skin and can easily help keep your skin cleaner for much longer.

-Go easy on the beauty routine right now. You're stuck indoors anyway so it's not like there's too much pollution that will affect your skin. Limit your routine to cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen. You can throw in a mask or two during the week but that's about all you need right now.

Well, now that you know what you can do to get rid of all that unwanted oil from your skin, we say you start practising these tips ASAP. Stay tuned for more updates.
