Things about hair conditioners you hardly know of

We all love using hair conditioners after we shampoo our hair to give our hair the moisture and shine that it needs. It has become a necessary step to follow after a hair wash. People earlier used to deep oil hair to soften them and then rinse it off with shampoo. This has now changed to conditioners to do the same for hair softening. Although, there's still a lot to know about using this hair product.

- Don't condition the roots and scalp: There is no way that the conditioner should reach the scalp or the roots. Doing this will clog the follicles and slow the hair growth. You might already have a mixed or oily scalp which might worsen the situation. You must only apply conditioner on the lengths of the hair.

- Condition and then shampoo: Experts suggest that the conditioners should be used before washing the hair with shampoo. All these years, we've first been shampooing and then conditioning the hair. But the reason behind doing the opposite is, when you take a shower after applying conditioner to wash it off, it never fully goes away from the tresses. And so, you need to reverse the process in order to get the conditioner completely off the hair.

- You can condition without shampooing: We all have been there when the hair demands moisturizing, but you don't really need a clean scalp for that. This usually happens for people who have a combination scalp type who have oily roots but extremely dry ends. You can apply conditioner and wash it off the usual way. This will keep the hair from getting frizzy and scalp oily.

Styling: With conditioner, you hardly need any heat appliances and hair sprays. You only need to wash your hair as usual and apply conditioner. Give it a normal wash and not a thorough one, braid your hair or fold it in a bun. Leave it for 2-3 hour and you'll get soft bouncy curls.
