Apple cider vinegar is one of the common kitchen ingredients that can do wonders for health. From helping to lose weight to improving heart health, the strong tasting ACV is being taken by many for its known health benefits. However, the bitter-tasting drink comes with a bit of a trade-off that not everyone might be aware of. Consuming apple cider vinegar in the wrong way can be dangerous for the body than doing any good. There are a few things that you should avoid doing while consuming apple cider vinegar (AVC) everyday. One must consult the doctor before adding this acid drink to their diet.

Many people tend to drink apple cider vinegar right after their meal. It should be the opposite. Drinking ACV before your meal can help to soothe digestion issues. However, the best way to drink ACV is to have it on an empty stomach in the morning.

ACV comes with an unpleasant strong taste and smell which makes a lot of people inhale the air before chugging the liquid. This can irritate the throat, nose, and eyes more. Furthermore, taking ACV strongly to speed up the effects can affect your food pipe and teeth. ACV can be too strong when not diluted, hence, you should mix 1-3 teaspoons of ACV in 100ml of water for consumption.

It has been seen that brushing right after consuming apple cider vinegar can wear off the tooth enamel more easily. In the long run, it can cause cavities and tooth decay. If you must brush your teeth to get rid of the odd breath then we recommend you to wait for at least 30 minutes.

Consuming ACV before bedtime is also something you should avoid to prevent damaging your esophagus through acid reflux or irritation at night. There must be a minimum gap of 30 minutes between consuming apple cider vinegar and sleep.

Just how too much of anything can be dangerous for your health, ACV too can harm you. Start by taking a small dosage with intervals to make your body get used to it. It will also allow time to see if your body can handle it. If you experience frequent upset stomach or burning sensation, you should stop consuming ACV immediately.
