Your hair needs to be trimmed regularly in order to be healthy and that's no news. You need to at least have a gap of six weeks to three months in between your teams as this will keep your split ends at bay. If you're someone who sports fringes, you need to maintain them and even save on the cash that the hair salon might charge at every visit. And in this very time of COVID-19, you need to stay at home but still care for your hair. And one way to do that is by learning how to trim your hair yourself while being in the comfort of your home.

All you need is a pair of scissors, some water and confidence. Here's what you got to do:

- Start with parting your hair evenly into sections of one inch each. For a perfect trim, your hair needs to be straight which can be achieved by sprinkling some water on your hair to dampen them.

- Make use of a spritzer and spray a little water on your hair before you chop them off. Also, be sure your hair isn't dripping with water as it could create a lot of mess otherwise.

- Once you twist the whole section, hold the bottom section so that only the ends of the section poke out. Make sure you hold the scissors perpendicularly. Then chop it off.

- If you need to cut your fringes, hold the hair between your index finger and middle finger with a tiny bit of the end sticking out from beneath. Now, you need to cut upwards instead than horizontally for a salon-like finish.

- To do away with split ends, divide your hair into one-inch sections. Twist each section firmly by rotating the hair clockwise or anti-clockwise till you reach the end. When the strands start to poke out, you can then start trimming off towards the roots against the rest of the hair.

That's all that you need to set your hair healthy and crisp with a sharp trim.
