Goa is 'the' place to go with your friends to have a chilled weekend and to totally relax and detox from your monotonous lives. And what better way to do it than to sit on the beach, light a fire and drink up! Well, today we come bearing not the best news. You might have to stop dreaming about walking the serene Goa beaches with a beer in your hand. Why's that, you ask?

Goa Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar has passed a new law wherein you will have to pay a fine or even be sent to prison if you’re caught drinking in public areas like beaches. It has been noted that drinking on Goa beaches will be a punishable offence with a fine up to Rs 5,000. The Goan government reveals that drinking is meant to be done in restaurants, pubs or at home and hence, drinking on beaches has been strictly banned as per a law passed in September of 2017. Liquor shops around beaches will also be monitored for any suspicious sale.

We know how sad this makes you'll...Hang in there.
