Maida or refined flour is one of the common kitchen ingredients that can be found present in almost every Indian kitchen. No matter how much you think gluten from maida is not good for your health, it turns out it can benefit your face. From removing suntan to improving fine lines, refined flour can also help to treat moderate pigmentation. What makes maida ideal for a beauty DIY is its anti-ageing properties that can give you a tighter, firmer, and supple skin by boosting the collagen level. If you’re convinced to give this humble ingredient a try, we have laid down some face masks that you can prepare with maida at home to achieve the flawless skin you have always wished for.

For dry and dehydrated skin, prepare your face mask by mixing equal parts of flour, honey, and a little splash of milk into a paste. Apply this on your freshly cleansed face to brighten up your complexion and bring back the moisture at the same time.

For acne-prone skin, you can add turmeric, honey/olive oil, and refined flour together into a thick paste. Applying this face mask regularly will help to reduce acne inflammations due to the anti-bacterial properties of honey and turmeric. The flour will help to draw out impurities from the skin by treating clogged pores.

To de-tan your skin, combine curd with maida until well mixed and leave it on your face until completely dry. Wash off with cold water to reveal fresh and even-toned skin, without tan lines.

For younger-looking skin, you can try mixing refined flour with aloe vera. Aloe vera is known to be a good source of antioxidants and vitamins. This facemask will soothe your skin and help to rejuvenate your skin. Besides, it will restore the moisture level of the skin and provide you a tightening effect.
