In some astonishing reports by the UN, it now looks like people in Pakistan are happier than people in India. It now appears that Indians seem to get unhappier every year while their not-so-well-off neighbours in Pakistan seem to be getting happier. This report was shown in the latest United Nations ranking of the world's happiest countries. In 2017, India had dropped four places in the World Happiness Report and now in 2018, it has further dropped 11 places. India now ranks a low 133 on the list of 156 countries monitored by the United Nations' Sustainable Development Solutions Network for its annual 'joy' report.

On the contrary, Pakistan which was already leading in happiness in 2017, has further climbed up 5 places to rank on 75 this year. In fact, the report states that not just Pakistan, but all of India's immediate neighbours are seemingly happier than Indians. Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and even the state-controlled China are all leading in happiness as compared to India. The report published on Wednesday put Finland on top among 156 countries ranked by happiness levels, based on factors such as life expectancy, social support and corruption. Stay tuned for more updates.
