As much we would like to claim that the women in India are free and liberated, the Bengaluru incident reiterated the aim of gender equality in India is still a long road ahead. While there are many factors that can be attributed to the increasing crimes committed against women, one of the foremost reason continues to be the partriarchal condintioning of the society. Though the mindset is changing, we still have a treacherous road ahead till we are able to claim complete safety for the women in our country.
