It is definitely tempting to shower in hot, steamy water, but that can actually do more harm than good. Too much hot water on your skin can cause it to go dry and flaky. Cooler water, on the other hand, can help to remove germs and bacteria. It also won't irritate the skin. If you do need a bit of warmth, opt to shower in lukewarm water, but only for 5 or 10 minutes.
