High blood pressure also known as hypertension is when the pressure of the blood against the walls of the arteries is higher than the usual. It's when the blood pressure puts a lot of strain on the blood vessels which in turn impacts your health as well as other organs. High BP can also lead to other chronic illnesses like kidney disease, heart disease and diabetes. If you live an unhealthy lifestyle or if you follow an unhealthy diet, it can lead to high blood pressure. Hence, anyone with chronic high BP might be at a risk of developing heart conditions and that's why it's very crucial to maintain your blood pressure and prevent it from getting worse.

In fact, sleep has a great impact on your mind and body. It isn't uncommon for people to be unable to sleep peacefully. Since we live in a highly stressed environment, our stress levels can also lead to poor sleep because our mind is never at peace. Your mind and body are interconnected and so stress is one major reason that can give you chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes. All the extra stress can also highly disturb your sleep habits and cycle. If your sleep cycle is disturbed, it can lead to sleep deprivation which ultimately hampers your sleep.

Hence, your sleep can have major impact on your blood pressure and not getting quality sleep will affect it extensively. Lack of sleep will only shoot up your stress levels and you also need to be extra careful if you already suffer from sleep apnea. This condition can also impact your oxygen levels which can result in heart failure as well. Thus, hypertension has a lot to do with your sleeping habits and you should put your all to fix it.
