It has been a while since we've seen Abhishek Bachchan on the big screen and the actor has made it very clear that he is in no hurry to sign films. The actor who is also helping his dad Amitabh Bachchan prepare for his role as a football coach for his upcoming movie will be seen playing the role of a poet in a biopic of poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi.

Sahir Ludhianvi has been known as the poet who rewrote many rules of filmy poetry and Abhishek has been blocked to play the role of the poet in his biopic being directed by debutant Jasmeet Reen. A source said, “Abhishek has begun preparing for the Sahir biopic. He will begin rigorous interaction with Sanjay Leela Bhansali too, after 'Padmavati' releases. But his groundwork on Sahir has begun in the right earnest. He is regularly listening to the immortal repertoire of Sahir’s lyrics from Guru Dutt’s 'Pyasa' to Yash Chopra’s 'Trishul'. Abhishek’s father, Amitabh Bachchan, had the fortune of interacting with Sahir when he worked on 'Kabhi Kabhie' and 'Trishul'. So, Bachchan saab is able to provide plenty of invaluable inputs to Abhishek’s preparation.”

Having a poet for a grandfather, we bet Abhishek will do this upcoming role full justice.
