Abhishek to play Sahir Ludhianvi in ‘Gustakhiyan’; loses 12 kilos for the part

While earlier there were speculations that the makers of ‘Gustakhiyan’ were considering names like Shah Rukh Khan, Irrfan Khan and Abhishek Bachchan to play the role of the late Indian poet and film lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi, it has now been confirmed that its Junior Bachchan who has bagged the coveted part.

Abhishek is prepping hard for the movie and is working on familiarising himself with Sahir’s lyrics, some of them like ‘Main Pal Do Pal Ka Shayar Hoon’ and ‘Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein’ turned into iconic songs from his father Amitabh Bachchan’s movie ‘Kabhi Kabhie’. Abhishek has apparently even lost 12 kilos to look his part in the movie. This is the third time he will be seen portraying a real-life character on screen after 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey' and 'Guru'. 'Gustakhiyan' will mark his first collaboration with ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
