Director Priyadarshan had taken a good 4 years off from Hindi cinema. However, the director is back after his four-year hiatus and this time he is all set to work on a comedy with Abhishek Bachchan. Post the release of his 'Rangrezz', this will be the first time since 2013 that the director will be working on a film in Bollywood.

“Abhishek is on board. We have been working on the script and will give him a reading this week and will go ahead once he approves of the final script. I’m hoping to start by January," Priyadarshan said. He also added, “I’m hoping to come back with another film which is at par with 'Hera Pheri'. I want to play my second innings in Bollywood carefully.” When asked about casting Abhishek, he said, “I was looking for someone who is as good as Akshay Kumar when it comes to humour. Abhishek is a brilliant actor. He has got his sense of humour from his father (Amitabh Bachchan). I believe he will do total justice to my film. He was always my first choice.”

On being asked why it took him 4 years to come back to films, he said, “I did not do anything for three years. There was one film I made with Mohanlal, 'Oppam', last year that went on to become a superhit but other than that, I was off cinema due to personal reasons. But now I’m hoping this comeback is the best one yet. I know people are expecting another 'Hera Pheri' and 'Hulchul' from me."
