Arjun Kapoor bows out of Anushka Sharma's 'Kaneda'
Arjun Kapoor, who played his last grey character in Aurganzeb, has been wanting to play an antagonist for quite some time now. Arjun, who was offered a part in Karan Johar's 'Shuddhi' turned down the role as he wanted to play the role of antagonist, which was offered to Varun Dhawan. And, he recently turned down, Anushka Sharma's 'Kaneda' as he wanted to play the grey character offered to Punjabi actor, Diljith Dosanjh.

A source closed to the production revealed, "The film is a love triangle. Arjun was offered the part of a normal boy-next-door, something the actor isn’t keen on taking up. He conveyed that to director Navdeep Singh. After the wholesome Ki & Ka and Anees Bazmee’s upcoming comic entertainer Mubarakan feels he is ready for negative roles. He has been clear from the start that he is not attracted to stereotypical chocolate-boy roles, but those with a twist or grey shades and he feels Kaneda’s villain’s role would have been perfect fit for him.”

The source further added, “Don’t know why people are referring to ‘Kaneda’ as a comedy. It is a drama and it is not as intense as ‘NH 10’ was. We can’t talk much about the film.”

'Kaneda' will be Anushka’s third production under her home banner 'Clean Slate Films' after 'NH 10' and 'Phillauri'.
