Akshay Kumar opens up on the whole National Award controversy

Akshay Kumar is currently riding high on his National Award win for ‘Rustom’. While people have had various opinions on Akshay’s win, the actor has chosen to focus only on the positive side.

When asked that how is the actor feeling about his first-ever national award win, the actor said, “I’m very happy. I consider it the blessings of my parents and the good wishes of my family. Mrs Funnybones (wife Twinkle Khanna) who always teased me on not getting any awards is happy and my happiness lies in making her happy.”

Though Akshay’s win has been celebrated by many, there are people who feel that the actor’s victory was undeserved. In fact, there were speculations about that the actor won the award as his long-time associate Priyandarshan was heading the Features Films jury at the National Awards.

On being quizzed if such reports bother the actor, he brushed it off saying, “I have completed 25 years in the film industry and I’ve never called in a favour to bag a movie or an award. As for Priyan favouring me, I think he has answered that question already.”

On the work front, Akshay is currently shooting for his wife’s debut production venture, ‘Pad Man’ along with Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in Madhya Pradesh.
