Anil Kapoor: I used to wear Sanjay Dutt's suits on rent

Anil Kapoor is one of the most celebrated actors today. However, at a recent event, Anil Kapoor revealed that there was a time when the actor used to attend parties wearing Sanjay Dutt's suits on rent. The actor had joined Gulshan Grover, Jackie Shroff and Satish Kaushik, to celebrate 30 years of 'Ram Lakhan' at Subhash Ghai's newly-launched Mukta A2 cinemas, previously known as New Excelsior cinemas.
To commemorate the three decades of the film's release, footage from the premiere of 'Ram Lakhan' was shown at the venue. Seeing the footage from the premiere, Anil quipped, "One thing I have to say is that the suit that I wore to the premiere, I am sure it was 100 per cent a rented suit. It wasn’t mine." Adding further to Anil's statement, Gulshan Grover said, "The suit really wasn’t Anil’s. It was Rajeev Mehra’s wedding and there were five to six functions. Neither Anil nor I had suits. So we both used to go to Akbar (designer) to borrow suits of other actors."
Talking about how Anil always got the best suits, and how they had to 'butter up' the designers for getting the suits, Gulshan further added, "And he used to give Anil Kapoor suits of Sanjay Dutt while I used to get only shirts. He never thought I would become an actor." Reminiscing about the days of the past, Anil continued, "I remember. You’re absolutely right. Akbar was kind enough to give me Sanjay Dutt’s suits to wear. They were a little loose because he (Dutt) was well built and I was single ‘pasli’. But I used to wear his suits."
