Mumbai HC dismisses Rabia Khan's petition challenging CBI's charge sheet that termed Jiah Khan's death as a suicide case
A bench of justices Ranjit More and Shalini Phansalkar-Joshi rejected a petition filed by Rabia Khan - mother of late actress Jiah Khah - challenging CBI's charge sheet that termed Jiah Khan's death as a suicide case, and not homicide. Post this, the actor Sooraj Pancholi has been charged with abetment of Jiah’s suicide. The bench has also dismissed the application filed by Pancholis.

Bombay High Court had earlier stayed the trial pending the hearing of Rabia’s petition. According to Rabia, Jiah was allegedly murdered by her then boyfriend-actor Sooraj Pancholi. In her petition, Rabia Khan had sought permission for the formation of a SIT (Special Investigation Team) to monitor the investigation of the case by the High Court.

Rabia said that her daughter was not suicidal, as claimed by CBI, but it was a case of homicide. Jiah's mom also claimed that the injuries on her daughter's body hinted at physical abuse rather than a suicide attempt.
