Bollywood actress Sunny Leone’s documentary, ‘Mostly Sunny’ premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and hit a limited number of screens in the Canadian theatres in January 2017. And now the director of the documentary, Dilip Mehta, is keen for the film to hit the Indian theatres as well.

The interesting part is that Sunny Leone and her husband Daniel Weber is completely against this decision. Talking about this Dilip told the DNA, “Sunny promised she would open every chapter of her life without inhibitions. And to her credit, she did exactly that. She spoke fearlessly about her past as a porn star. Then something happened.”

He continued, “The reason, for that shift in attitude (not wanting the film to release in Inda), had been the fame and widespread acceptance she found following the success of ‘Ragini MMS 2’s ‘Baby Doll’ track, featuring her.” The filmmaker adds that post that Sunny’s team has been “trying to erase her past as a porn star.”

He filmmaker further went on to say, “This is the image she and her husband are working on creating in India. As if she was never a part of the porn industry. You can wipe out an entire segment of your life and pretend it ever happened. But Sunny Leone can’t get me to comply in her deceit. She can’t play footsie with me.”

Dilip, however, confessed that his only fear is how the Censor Board (CBFC) would treat the film. Well, let’s wait and see if the film makes it to the Indian theatres.
