First look of Vidya Balan starrer 'Begum Jaan' is out!

Vidya Balan has undergone a complete transformation for the role in 'Begum Jaan'. The first look of the film was recently shared on the internet, and it gives us a glimpse of Vidya's character in the film. Vidya in a deglam avatar can be seen smoking hookah and is the very personification of a powerful woman.

Alongside Vidya, Gauahar Khan can also be seen in the frame. The actress's deglam role is the complete antithesis of her uber-glamorous onscreen persona. While there is not much clarity regarding Gauahar's role in the film, the actress is hard-to-ignore in the frame.

Considering the backdrop of the story, reports suggest that censor board has passed 'Begum Jaan' with an A-certificate. Though CBFC has passed the film with zero cuts, they have asked the makers to replace a few words, as they did not want any cuss words to be associated with 'Azadi'.

Directed by National Award winner Srijit Mukherji, 'Begum Jaan' is the story of women who were displaced during the partition and the trauma they had to go through.
