There were issues earlier as well on the ‘Ghoomar’ song in ‘Padmaavat’. It has been opposed by several states. Recently the Karni Sena had vandalised a school function in Ratlam( Madhya Pradesh) after the students performed on the ‘Ghoomar’ song. Apparently, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and PM Narendra Modi were welcomed on the ‘Ghoomar’ song with a performance in Ahmedabad. It was a cultural function.

Prime Minister Netanyahu will pay tribute to the victims of the terror attack which happened in November 2008 today. He will also attend Bollywood event as well.

The song is being opposed by several states, including Haryana and Rajasthan. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Bhoopendra Singh said, “MP govt banned #Padmaavat, people shouldn’t even play songs of it. If someone plays a banned song, it must be reported to police & not take the matter into your own hands. Action to be taken against culprits.”

The film has been cleared by the CBFC with few modifications and with the suggestion to change the title of the film. The political parties have been creating a lot of issues and also some states said that they will not screen the movie in their particular state, to which the Supreme Court has suspended the ban for the four states.

‘Padmaavat’ is helmed by filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor play lead roles in the film.
