Bollywood actresses have been trolled and body shamed on several occasions on social media. Actress Swara Bhasker states that technology is either used for good or it is misused. In our society the harassment of women is considered normal sadly stated the actress. She feels that people deal with it and are kind of okay with it now.

Swara said, “You can either use technology [for good] or misuse it and like anything else, technology is also going to reflect the mindset of the society. Sadly, we have a society where harassment of women is actually normalised, where we know that it’s there though it’s not accepted. We deal with it and we’re almost kind of okay with it.”

Talking about her Twitter account the actress said, “That’s why you see Twitter timelines of a lot of people, including me; resemble those streets where men are passing comments at women. So, what happens to me when I walk down the road — chherkhani or eve teasing — is exactly what happens to me on my Twitter timeline, too.”

Swara feels that she must react to all the trolls which get on Twitter or normally as well, “For me, the way I react on the street by taking a stand and protesting or answering back and not ignoring, the same thing I do on Twitter. I always react because I think you must.”

She further added, “I purposely re-tweet or share Facebook posts, where it shows you what you’re responding to, and that also comes on screen. That’s the best ever. So, now I respond to trolls by troll shaming them.”

On the work front Swara Bhasker will be seen next in ‘Veer Di Wedding’ which is slated to release on June 1st, 2018. It also stars Kareena Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles.
