R Balki states that his next film ‘PadMan’ is not an awkward film but its and family entertainer and everyone should watch the film. He even stated that the film is even for young kids. The film is based on Arunachalam Muruganantham who made a revolution by manufacturing low-cost sanitary napkins for the rural Indian women. He also stated that menstruation is a very natural process there is nothing to hide in it.

The fimmaker said, “'PadMan' is a children’s film, and must be seen with families, young kids — sons and daughters. The moment you call this an adult topic, the whole purpose is defeated. Menstruation is as natural a phenomenon as growing a beard is. It’s a natural process and there’s nothing to hide.”

Talking about his film Balki said, “It’s a very light, non-preachy film, and it talks about a perceived taboo subject in a simple manner. I don’t expect people to watch it just because it deals with a particular idea or subject. We don’t want to teach or preach. Its pure entertainment that shows the incredible journey of a man whose resilience brought about a change in society.”

The filmmakers said that we should take the entertainment way and people should understand the concept without feeling the gravity, “A filmmaker shouldn’t even get into those little territories without understanding the responsibility, but, at the same time, we shouldn’t be overweighed by those responsibilities and take the entertainment away. Finally, if you want people not to look at it so heavily, as everybody is looking at it, you have to lighten up first. And that doesn’t mean being irresponsible. It means people should get the point without feeling the gravity.”

'PadMan' is slated to release on 25th January 2018. It stars Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles.
