Govinda talks about his part and eventual exit from 'Jagga Jasoos' and thanks Rishi Kapoor for speaking in his favour
Not much was known about Govinda's exit from director Anurag Basu's recent venture, 'Jagga Jasoos'. In fact, the discussion surrounding Govinda's exit from the film only began after the actor tweeted his clarification on social media. It was only after Govinda's tweet that both filmmaker Anurag Basu and actor Ranbir Kapoor issued an apology.

While everyone thought that matter was done with, senior actor Rishi Kapoor mentioned the incident and blamed Anurag for his unprofessionalism. The actor said, "You even threw Govinda out of the film. If you don’t want Govinda to work in your film, why did you ask him in the first place? Iss sab mein Ranbir ka naam toh kharaab hoga, aur kya? Mera kharaab hoga!"

Following Rishi Kapoor's interview, Govinda thanked the senior actor for taking a stand and speaking in his favour. Govinda, who had till now maintained a stoic silence on the issue revealed that he had not spoken about his ouster for he has high regards for the Kapoors.

While Govinda is not sure about what went wrong, he explained, "I truly feel that it’s the director’s call to do what he wants to do with his film, but a little professionalism is expected. I had no clue what they were up to. They were busy with their own things and I wasn’t even informed about it. This, despite me doing the film without even charging for it. I was unwell and on drips, but I still travelled to South Africa for the shoot as I didn’t want people to feel that I am unprofessional or making excuses. After doing all that, what I got in return has made me realise that I need to be more frank from now on. I shouldn’t be sensitive or emotional when it comes to work. I should make changes in myself as this is how the world functions."

However, the actor maintained that if Anurag offers him a cameo in future he will still do it for they all are professionals. Talking about special appearances, Govinda concluded, "There might not be a second time as I might only do it for the Kapoors or Salman Khan’s family. Not that I don’t think the others are less important, it’s just that these families are special for me and I hold them in high regard.”
