Here’s why ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ sequel wont have the iconic Aamir-Salman jodi

‘Andaz Apna Apna’ is undoubtedly one of the most iconic and memorable movies of Bollywood. More than two decades have passed since the movie’s release but till date people laugh at its quirky one-liners and hilarious sequences. And when filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi announced his plans to make a sequel to the movie, it was indeed a celebratory moment for the fans.
Talking about the project, he recently said, “I want to make a worthy successor. What other filmmakers do is en-cash on a successful film’s title, whether there is a story or not. I can’t cheat people with the title. The day I’m satisfied with the subject being the worthy successor, I will get on the floor with the movie.” However, the filmmaker has made it clear that the iconic Jodi of Salman Khan and Aamir Khan won’t be making a comeback along with the movie. “For humour, you need innocence. That time, these actors had the innocence. Now, it will look forced. It looks cute if a 20 year old is chasing a girl. A 45-50 year old man chasing young girls looks vulgar,” said Santoshi.
Oh well, then who would be the lucky actors who would carry forward the legacy and live up to the audience’s expectations? “There is Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan... They are all promising actors and they have the knack for comedy. I will pick up good talent for the film,” said the filmmaker before signing off.
