Kangana Ranaut reveals what she’ll be wearing at Cannes Festival this year

Even before Kangana Ranaut was the uncrowned Queen of Bollywood, right from her launch, Kangana was well-known for her distinct look – her spiral curls, drop dead gorgeous looks and sartorial sensibilities were the talk of the town. Her sense of styled progressed from ditsy printed sun dresses, a love affair with Tom Ford ensembles to finally resting with making the nine yards her reliable uniform. Kangana now oscillates between a traditional weave to a high-fashion western ensemble. Even though Kangana’s style file could be easily described, you can’t pin down one look as her signature. Clearly, we’re true blue fan’s of Kangana’s sartorial sense and the fact that she chooses to showcase our rich Indian weaves at international events (Read: Cannes Film Festival) makes us love her even more.

With Cannes Festival this year just a day away, Kangana Ranaut revealed what she’ll be wearing for this year’s red carpet. Read on if you’re as curious as we are.

For this year’s theme, ‘Live Victoriously,’ Kanaga’s choice of clothing will be apt. She revealed to a daily, "the clothes I wear will have drama. At the same time as an Indian actor, I have the responsibility of endorsing our weavers, and wearing outfits that reflect our rich heritage. My stylist Ami Patel and I have been brainstorming for weeks. We, along with Falguni and Shane Peacock, are designing a unique saree. The idea is to bring the forgotten weaves to the fore so that the world is more aware of our rich fabrics and culture."

Despite the high pressure that comes with these high-profile red carpet appearances, Kangana reveals she likes to keep it fuss free. She continued. , "I was so busy with Panga. I had to gain almost 10 kilos for the film. During trials, I realised I have to lose some weight." She spoke fondly about her contemporaries’ appearance at the recently commenced Met Gala. "In 2012, I attended Rakesh Roshan's birthday party sporting a no-eyebrows look. So risque dressing has never been a deterrent. I was one of the first actresses to wear sarees to the airport. When I was seeing the MET Gala pictures, I thought that in India, the real queen of Camp would be Rekhaji. It's wonderful how Priyanka (Chopra) and Deepika (Padukone) are making their mark there."
