Kolkata Film Fest is set to kick off with Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan!

The 23rd Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) is set to kick off on the 10th of November this year. The film fest is India’s second oldest film fest and is an event looked forward to with great anticipation. And to commemorate the UK-India Year of Culture 2017, Britain will be the focus country for this 23rd edition. What's more? Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan will be present at the inaugural ceremony to kick-start the event.

The festival will pay homage to the late icons of Indian cinema, actors Tom Alter and Om Puri and cinematographer Ramananda Sengupta with films like 'Shatranj Ke Khiladi', 'Sadgati' and 'Headmaster'. A total of 143 films from 53 countries will be screened under 16 sections at 12 different venues too. KIFF will also include 13 films from the UK with a six-film retrospective of acclaimed Brit filmmaker Michael Winterbottom.

Kamal Hassan as also filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt are expected to attend the inaugural ceremony along with bigwigs Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan and the ceremony is set to be presided over by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
