Looks like CBFC did not make the decision to mute Hanuman from 'Black Panther' after all

The Hollywood film 'Black Panther' which stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong'o in the lead is ringing the box-office cash registers all over the world. However, the film has also managed to stir up quite the controversy in India. Recently there was news that fans in India were enraged that the word Hanuman had been muted from the film as was noticed during the screenings. In the film, the Jabari tribe is said to worship Lord Hanuman as per the comics. But this reference was deliberately omitted from the film.
Fans were disappointed and most of them blamed the CBFC for this decision. The audience thought that yet again the CBFC had decided to intervene and try to stop a film from creating "controversy" in the country. But now sources are saying that the CBFC is not to be blamed for this action. "It is not CBFC who muted the word Hanuman but it’s the producers of the movie in India who decided to do this," revealed a source. Well if the decision was taken to avoid creating a controversy, it has turned out to be quite ironical. 'Black Panther' released in India on February 16. Stay tuned for more updates.
