Karan Johar has been making the headlines recently. The filmmaker has lost 19 kilos in just four months. Ranbir Kapoor’s trainer has helped Karan in this transformation. The trainer has been working with Ranbir Kapoor for quite some time now. The trainer says Karan Johar is much disciplined and he never complains about the diet.

"Ranbir recommended me to Karan who is really disciplined and never complains about the diet or how tough the workout is. He is one of the busiest guys I've worked with but he makes it a point to train at least three times a week. When we first met, he admitted his dream was to lose 12 kg and fit into a T-shirt. He has surpassed his own target and still won't give up. Before that, he would only wear jumpers and sweatshirts, among other baggy clothes,” said the trainer.

"Karan would say, 'I have two kids now and want to be healthy to look after them. He also wanted to stop over thinking about what to wear. My ultimate target for Karan is to have him walk on a beach shirtless.”

The trainer talks about training Rana Daggubati, "I had been working with Rana Daggubati and his body as Bhallaladeva in ‘Baahubali’ was appreciated. Rana is good friends with Ranbir who was looking for somebody to train with at the time. He had already worked with several others but hadn't got the physique he wanted. Rana and Ranbir are similar in a way that they don't like to work too hard in the gym and enjoy their food and drink."

The trainer expresses how difficult it was to train Ranbir initially, "He's not like Hrithik Roshan or Tiger Shroff who already have a toned physique. Ranbir was underweight at 70 kg for his 6'ft 1-inch frame. He is a good actor and would try everything possible to avoid workouts, eating for taste or because he was hungry. I had to get him to eat clean food. But with me, Ranbir is working out for an hour or more for the first time in his life. Now he's committed to fitness but initially, he would down a few drinks and lie. When I caught him, he'd apologise."

Ranbir had to play a character of a 20s person in ‘Brahmastra’, the trainer said, "Ranbir is at his fittest after quitting smoking and drinking in the last one year, which is a big lifestyle change for him. He weighs around 86 kg now and that's the biggest he's ever been. I keep him motivated with a cheat meal here and there. He asks me to get Haleem from Hyderabad.”
