Priyanka Chopra to produce an Indo-American movie called ‘Love Sonia’

Priyanka Chopra has joined hands with Hollywood producer David Womark and is all set to co-produce an upcoming Indi-American movie called ‘Love Sonia’. Reports say that the makers, looking for an Indian connection to the project, had first approached Karan Johar to produce the movie. However, after things failed to work out, he suggested them PeeCee’s name and she was soon on board.
Talking about it, a source said, “The Hollywood producers wanted a big name to attach to the film as a presenter to bring attention to this niche film. The team approached Karan Johar, who presented ‘The Lunchbox’, but that didn’t work out.” He added, “It was Karan who suggested her name. It’s a niche film, which is sure to find a lot of audiences abroad, but back home, they needed a desi connection, which is why attaching PC’s name to the project made sense.” The story revolves around the life of a young Indian village girl whose life changes when she is caught in a global sex trade network.
While television actress Mrunal Thakur will be playing the lead role, Freida Pinto will be seen in a supporting role and Demi Moore has a special appearance.
