Here’s how Ranbir Kapoor transformed his body for the Dutt biopic

Ranbir Kapoor went through a whole lot of body transformation to fit in Sanjay Dutt’s shoes for the actor’s biopic. The role required Ranbir to put on weight and get into a well-built body to look the part. As a part of the prep, Ranbir trained and transformed his body according to the many phases of Sanjay Dutt’s life.

According to a recent report, Ranbir, apparently, was not very happy with the kind of reception his look for the biopic received. Ranbir was unhappy that the internet was not much in appreciation of his transformation for the film. While RK junior was worried about the weight he had put on, a recent report suggests that the actor is now getting back in shape.

As per a leading daily, Ranbir has already lost weight and is maintaining a certain diet to be able to shoot for the biopic as well as finish the last leg of ‘Jagga Jasoos’. RK’s trainer Kunal Gir informed, “We’re being careful so it isn’t harmful to his body. Crash diets and rigorous exercises usually take a toll.” Ranbir has cut down on the number of meals (from six to four), out of which one meal is zero-carb. “He also doesn’t have his 3 am protein shake anymore.” Gir adds, “Sometimes, he also follows the high-intensity, travel training cardio session when he needs to look leaner. It reduces puffiness.

It’s a 10-hour cardio session which is wrapped in 30 minutes. I turn off the treadmill and he continues running on it. It’s extremely taxing with 40-second breaks in between.

But I have learned the hard way that one needs to focus on one’s exit strategy — what comes after you lose the weight gained. To lose muscle is the easiest thing to do.”

Well, Ranbir has been putting in a lot of hard work for his role in Sanjay Dutt’s biopic. Apart from Ranbir, the film also stars Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, and Vicky Kaushal. Helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film is to release in the later half of 2017.
