Ranveer Singh to compose songs for Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boyz’

As reported earlier, Ranveer Singh post the completion of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmavati' will begin prep on Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boyz'. The film will be a musical as it is based on the street rappers, and will see Ranveer in a rather rugged look. Pairing opposite Ranveer in the film will be Alia Bhatt, who previously starred with the actor in an advertisement and will be seen opposite him for the first time in 'Gully Boyz'.

Talking to a leading daily, a source revealed details about the film and said, "The lead couple is required to do extensive singing. Zoya was very sure that she wanted Ranveer and Alia because they both can sing. She also needed her leading man to be a rapper, and we all know that Ranveer can rap at the snap of a finger."

The source further added, "Zoya will give Ranveer a free hand. Gully Boyz will have an informal, almost casual but highly improvisational music score by many different musicians including Ranveer. He will be composing a lot of his lines."

Won't it be fun to see Ranveer turn music composer for the film?!
