Shahid Kapoor is known for his hard work and dedication towards the films and projects he undertakes. The actor is extremely professional when it comes to his work conduct. Recently, Shahid's first look for his upcoming film 'Padmavati' was released. In one of his toughest roles to date, Shahid will be seen bringing Maharaja Rawal Ratan Singh to the silver screen. The film that is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali also stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati and Ranveer Singh as the main antagonist Alauddin Khilji.

Apparently, Shahid injured his ankle while shooting for some strenuous action scenes for the film. A source within the film's unit revealed to a leading tabloid that because of the stunts, Shahid's ankles have swollen up. As Shahid reshot a few scenes, his injury got aggravated. The source stated, "The unit is racing against time to meet the deadline. It is impossible to halt the shoot at this stage. He has almost 10 days of shoot left."

Talking about Shahid, his designer for the film stated, "Shahid is a true exemplar of warmth and charisma. It's easy to see why Mr. Bhansali has chosen him to portray Maharaja Rawal Ratan Singh. He is a princely presence even off screen. He gets under the skin of the character so effortlessly and carries the royal look very well. We've never seen him in an avatar like this. I'm sure the audiences will be blown away by his performance."
